Ohio Airports and COVID-19 Responses

 April 30, 2020

The world has turned into an unrecognizable place to many. Kids are home from school while trying to receive an education. Workers that can work from home are encouraged to do so. Workers that are still showing up to help the rest of us are masked, gloved, and spaced apart from each other.  Bus routes and airline routes are being canceled.

Most. Definitely. Unrecognizable.

So, how are Ohio airports handling the situation?  It varies by what type of activity typically occurs at that airport. For example, an airport that has a majority of its operations occurring tied to a university may have been closed due to the university being closed. Other flight schools are open to a certain extent and keeping cleaning protocols at the forefront of their minds. Business aircraft temporarily slowed due to stay-at-home orders, but then picked back up (and then some) once commercial flights became a concern due to lack of flights or physical distancing issues.

With CARES Act monies flowing into Ohio's commercial airports, those airports are keeping their doors open and stepped up the level of cleaning, communications, signage, etc., to help those that must travel feel safer. In concert with airlines and the Transportation Security Administration, our commercial service airports are working hard to ensure you can still get through Ohio's airports!

Stay safe!
