ODOT Seeking Comments on Current Aviation Rules

January 3, 2018

Are you interested in guiding Ohio's Rules regarding aviation? Here is one way to do it! Below is an outreach from ODOT seeking input BEFORE March 2, 2018. Click here for ODOT's copy of the current rules.

Dear Industry Stakeholder,

Per the five year rule review process, the Ohio Department of Transportation is reviewing Section 5501:1 of the Ohio Administrative Code regarding aviation. Rules currently under review are as follows: 5501:1-10-01 to -13 (Ohio Airport Protection Act).

Attached to this email is a copy of the current rules associated with this chapter. Existing language for ODOT’s rules governing OAC 5501:1-10 Aviation can also be viewed at the following link: http://codes.ohio.gov/oac/5501%3A1-10

The Department is seeking industry input as part of the rule review process to improve where possible. We ask that the attached Word document is used for tracking proposed text edits and that comments are included throughout. ODOT would like to receive comments and industry input over the coming weeks. Please feel free to call or email me at the below contact information.

Once this initial step is completed, Department staff will review and offer a proposed rule package based on the input received. This proposal will be circulated to industry stakeholders for an additional comment period before any rules are filed with the Common Sense Initiative (CSI) and the Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review (JCARR).

We look forward to hearing from you before March 2, 2018.

Thank you,
Meghan
